Little Things That Count - The Weekly Roundup November, 7
Music : Pink - F**kin' Perfect. Can't stop listening to it these days...It's one of the new songs on her upcoming Greatest Hits album, alongside the newly released single Raise Your Glass, which already has a video.
Movie/TV Show : Started watching Raising Hope. Dry humor galore. I have only seen 4 episodes, but I like it so far.
Perfume : Guerlain - Tonka Imperiale. With notes of tonka, rosemary, spices, white honey, vanilla, almond, woods, amber and tobacco, it's great for this time of year, as it's a cold weather scent. Honeyed tonka with a touch of almondy, tobacco notes, perfect for a gourmand lover.
Beauty product: As winter is getting closer, my hands and lips will start suffering again because of the wind and extremely low temperatures. One lip balm that works for my lips is Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick. It moisturizes, it's not greasy and it tastes like chocolate :) If your lips are very dry, I suggest getting the one without SPF, as SPF products usually tend to dry out your skin even more.
Food/Dessert: I'm all in for chocolate cake this week and one recipe that's been tried and tested by many friends is the Black Magic Cake on AllRecipes.com. Enjoy ! :)
Random thought: The opera singer in my building is back. And louder than ever before. She practices at the weirdest hours.. 2 AM...7 AM. I miss sleeping in.
Blast from the past : Metallica - Nothing Else Matters. One of the best rock ballads. EVER. Period. (Believe it or not, it's not easy to find a decent link on youtube for the official video.)

It's been a nice week for music. Kings of Leon's new single is Pyro and I love it. Brandon Flowers has a new single too, called Only The Young, and it's finally hitting the airwaves. Ke$ha's catchy We R Who We R is the new U.S. No.1 single and the video is being directed by Hype Williams. And guess what? James Blunt is back, singing happy songs. What is that all about? He usually doesn't do "happy", but he does now and it works. Stay The Night is a very nice song and it's making me miss the sea and the beach so badly.
Also in the news this week:
The cover to Michael Jackson's new album has been released this week and...no. Just no. It's over the top in a tacky way and I don't like it. Don't get me wrong, I'm okay with "over the top", after all this is Michael Jackson we're talking about and he used to do "over the top" like no one else ( I still can't believe I am talking about him in the past tense). But there's good "over the top" and bad "over the top". And this cover is not the good kind. I just think he would have deserved better.
And finally, I want to share 2 links with you. These are some of the best pieces I've read on the blogs this week :
"My Son Is Gay" from the Nerdy Apple Bottom blog and
"Son and Father Pierce Autism's Veil" from Lens, the photography blog of The New York Times.
