Rihanna Premieres New Single: 'We Found Love' Featuring Calvin Harris

Rihanna has premiered the new single We Found Love, a collaboration with Calvin Harris who produced the track.

We Found Love serves as the first single taken from Rihanna's upcoming album, set to be released in November. The singer is not going to take any break between albums, therefore the new material will closely follow Rihanna's hugely popular Loud LP. Initially, We Found Love was supposed to be released in October, but Rihanna decided to push it forward.

Is Rihanna headed toward dangerous overexposure? Releasing back to back albums is always a risky move, but she's willing to take that chance: "I'll take a break when I'm tired". Considering the huge demand from her fans and the singer's current star power, I'm going to say the new single will perform very well in the charts, especially in Europe. It's a club banger and if it had been released over the summer, it would have been a smash hit. Ibiza, hello? But it is released now and it will be a smash hit just as well. For now, Rihanna is a hit machine and she's not going to miss any opportunity to have another hit under her belt.

I'm not a huge fan of the artwork (pictured above), but I'll wait for the video before I pass any judgment. As for the song, it's a good dance tune, exactly what you'd expect from Rihanna and Calvin Harris. It is what it is. An upbeat, no fuss dance track that serves its purpose. I personally like it and I think Rihanna's dreamy - somewhat melancholy - sweet vocals make the song. It's one of those uplifting dance tracks that you play in the morning to wake you up, and whenever it pops on the radio, you turn up the volume and dance around in your pyjamas (what, you don't do that?). It's got a bit of a retro vibe to it, very much like the cover art. "We found love in a hopeless place". Well, yeah, that's actually a great pop lyric.
