Rihanna Premieres New Video: 'We Found Love'

Rihanna's new video We Found Love was shot in Northern Ireland and here's what she had to say about it: "We've never done a video like this before. This is probably one of the deepest videos I've ever done. Its all about love and love being like a drug… you definitely get that from this. The good feeling of it and the dangers of it. That’s what this video is about."

Directed by Melina Matsoukas (who previously worked with Rihanna on Hard, S&M, Rude Boy, Rockstar 101), the video is a perfect rendition of the 'love is the drug' concept. It references the Chris Brown affair yet again (remember his blond phase?) only this time the concept is so well executed that it works visually in every way. The imagery is reminiscent of Requiem for a Dream, the colours, the cinematography, the editing are all great. Since the 'sex, drugs and rock'n'roll' theme obviously makes this a non family-friendly video, it will probably be on a restricted rotation schedule on some channels (meaning it won't get played on daytime TV ) or it might even get banned, but that's something Rihanna doesn't seem to mind and I think we all know by now that she's not really interested in being a role model or playing it safe.

We Found Love is the first single taken from Rihanna's new album Talk That Talk, to be released on November 21.
