Jon Hamm for Rolling Stone April 2013

On being tired of jokes about his ‘impressive anatomy’: “Most of it...it’s tongue-in-cheek but it is a little rude. It just speaks to a broader freedom that people feel like they have – a prurience.”

"They're called 'privates' for a reason," he says. "I'm wearing pants, for f**k's sake. Lay off. I mean, it's not like I'm a f**king lead miner. There are harder jobs in the world. But when people feel the freedom to create Tumblr accounts about my c*ck, I feel like that wasn't part of the deal ... But whatever. I guess it's better than being called out for the opposite."

On playing Don Draper in Mad Men: “Don is a very complicated character, and I’m a fairly complicated individual, but that’s pretty much where the similarity ends. I try to imbue Don with a humanity that is raw and misunderstood and meaningful . . . It’s not that I just come in and throw a suit on and act super cool.”

The Beatles or the Rolling Stones? "The Beatles for me are almost like too perfect, they're too clean," Hamm says. "The Rolling Stones have that dirt and grit."
